Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 NIH mHealth Training Institute (mHTI). Designed to develop the next generation of transdisciplinary mHealth researchers, the hybrid mHTI will blend pre-mHTI webinars and virtual “sandboxes” with an immersive in-person mHTI (August 4-8, 2024) at the University of California, Los Angeles.
The 2024 mHTI builds on the successes of previous mHTIs. Scholars from earlier institutes have highlighted a wide range of benefits, describing the mHTI as “transformative” and “a seminal experience in my professional development” with a “wonderful atmosphere and congeniality among scholars” and “terrific and generous faculty.”
The mHTI is a capacity-building institute funded by NIH/OBSSR/NIDA training grant 1R25DA038167 and supported by the NIBIB mHealth Center for Discovery, Optimization & Translation of Temporally-Precise Interventions (mDOT Center). Faculty comprise of mHealth thought-leaders experienced in mentoring transdisciplinary scientists. Our target scholars are new as well as established researchers from diverse disciplines who are interested in developing an integrative understanding of cutting-edge mHealth approaches and forging interdisciplinary connections. Due to the intensive and team-science nature of the mHTI, participation is limited to 30 scholars. There is no tuition and selected scholars will be provided with lodging at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center. Preference will be given to academia-based applicants seeking to co-create practical healthcare solutions with societal impact. More details on the mHTI and the application guidelines are available at https://mhti.md2k.org/index.
