Human-AI Ecosystem for Health & Well-being

Monday, June 29, 2026 – 1:00 pm CT

Xuhai "Orson" Xu

Dr. Xuhai “Orson” Xu
Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics
Columbia University

About the Webinar:

As everyday smart devices grow more capable, they are moving beyond simple behavior tracking toward capturing meaningful signals about our broader health and well-being. With the rise of foundation models, the idea of a truly intelligent system for continuous health monitoring and timely intervention is no longer science fiction. How do we make this vision real?

In this talk, I will outline a human-centered ecosystem that brings together AI, end-users, and health experts. I will share our work on building an AI personal health assistant for everyone that integrates rich, longitudinal health data from wearables and medical records. I will also show how these technologies can help health experts better digest diverse data streams for clinical decision support. By cultivating an organic human-AI ecosystem, we are moving toward a future where AI systems can sense, empower, and augment health and well-being in everyday life.
